Are you looking for a new or used piano?FIRST! With

30 years experience I can help you select the right piano for your needs. A piano that is made for the home won't hold up well in a church or school setting. There are many pianos, say on Craigslist. Some are good buys, others aren't. Don't buy until you call me! If I don't already have a piano that meets your criteria I can usually locate what you want and need quickly, so.....CALL ME!

If you are outside our service range and are a church, school or other organization with multiple tunings or, or maybe you and several neighbors would like to schedule tunings together we'll be glad to speak with you about pricing and scheduling.

Moving Your Piano

Watching a person move a piano they bought from a private party is usually like watching the old Laurel & Hardy comedy movie where they move a piano and before you know it, the piano is in dozens of pieces on the freeway. Don't trust yourself to move a piano. It is unlike any other piece of equipment or furniture you may have moved. Your piano should only be moved by experienced people who can prevent damage to your floors, walls and to secure it properly in a properly equipped truck. It may be tempting to save that extra money that you'd pay for a move but in the long run you'll be glad you hired a professional piano mover.

Reconditioning vs. Rebuilding

We recondition and rebuild pianos. While some pianos need complete rebuilding others may need only minor repairs adjustments and cabinet touch up. Following will detail what we offer in each package.

Reconditioning

Through years of playing a piano's felts and leathers begin to wear, springs may become weak or broken, hammers may be compacted and grooved. Reconditioning a piano usually involves cleaning, the repair of existing parts and replacing bad felts/leathers, conditioning the hammers by restoring the striking point and shoulders. Complete regulation of the action may be necessary to insure each note plays precisely to a rigid set of specifications to yield proper touch and dynamic control.

Our reconditioning package includes:

Cleaning the finish and polishing to remove scatches, repair if desired any loose veneer, all hardware and soundboard and plate.

Tighten all plate bolts and pinblock screws.

Replace any bad strings or even restring if warranted.

Polish key capstans.

Repair or replace key bushings, replace broken ivories/plastic or recover.

Clean action, repair or replace any broken part

Replace worn felts and leathers.

Reshape hammers or if necessary replace hammers.

Polish all action pins, (center and balance rail).

Level, set height dip of keys.

Damper regulation.

Lubricate all pedal trap work.

Regulation

We provide complete regulation services on both grand and vertical pianos. If your piano's keys feel lose, or has lost motion, if the response is not like it used to be the piano needs regulating. The more lost power to the hammers the less control and dynamic contol you have. The world's finest pianists cannot perform to their best if the piano is out of regulation. In fact Liberace, one of the world's finest pianist's could not play on most pianos out of regulation.

Rebuilding

A rebuild project involves completely overhauling the piano with new parts, such as a new soundboard, pinblock, new bridges, completely replacing all action parts, dampers and refinishing. Rebuilding is usually justified for better quality pianos or for a family heirloom. We craft the piano to achieve results as good or better than when the piano was originally built.
